Diagnostic Assessment Services at
The Dyslexia Garden

The Dyslexia Garden provides Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment for Children [8 up to 15 years] in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.

I offer comprehensive diagnostic assessments for dyslexia, specifically tailored for children and young individuals aged from 8 up to 15 years. These assessments are aimed at identifying your child's strengths and areas for growth based on their unique needs. This will offer personalised recommendations and strategies for both home and school to help them overcome any challenges they may encounter. Assessments adhere to SASC standards.

I offer a complimentary consultation to all clients making a booking. This consultation can be conducted in person, over the phone, or through video call, depending on your preference. It's a great opportunity to discuss your needs and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have. Please feel free to schedule a consultation at your convenience.

The Assessment Process

  1. Before the assessment: Parents and schools need to provide detailed background information through questionnaires. Follow-up phone calls may also be made.

  2. I always recommend that the individual comes to meet me before their assessment. This helps them become familiar with me and the environment where the assessment will take place. We usually spend around 30 minutes to an hour playing games and getting to know each other. It is also a great time for both the individual and the parents to ask any questions. (This is at no additional cost)

  3. Assessment location: The assessment will be conducted in a quiet, learning environment at my home.

  4. During the assessment: The learner will be accompanied by a known adult or carer to the appointment. I will work with a learner with no other person in the same room for the assessment duration.

  5. Follow-up tests: If more tests are needed, they will be arranged after the initial assessment at no extra charge.

  6. Assessment report: A report will be written within 20 working days and sent to the client. I will discuss the report at no extra charge, either by phone or video call.

  7. Additional advice: Extra advice for schools or parents may be provided at an additional cost if needed.

  8. Appointment times: Please arrive on time. If you are late, the session will still end at the prearranged time and will be charged at the full rate.

  9. Pricing: A full diagnostic assessment and report is £600. Payment is required before the final report is released.

  10. Feedback and follow up discussions with the individual and/or parents can be arranged after the report has been read.

Confidentiality

Feel reassured that all aspects of the assessment process are kept strictly confidential. Your child's school will not be contacted without your explicit written consent.

I will promise to look after your personal information. This includes what you tell me about yourself and what I learned by having you as a client.

I may, in absolute discretion and after the appropriate permissions have been obtained, maintain, for its administrative purposes only, a confidential file of records relating to you including a copy of completed questionnaires and any reports provided as part of the background information.

When you opt for diagnostic assessment through The Dyslexia Garden, you are choosing a nurturing approach to assist your child in achieving their maximum potential.

Please be aware that it may not always be possible for a formal diagnosis of a Specific Learning Difficulty (dyslexia) to be made as the result of an assessment.
